1. Japan

After keeping out travelers for almost two years, Japan finally lifted the ban on inbound international visitors to the country.  

From 7 September 2022, fully vaccinated travelers to the country are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 test result. Before, travelers could only visit the land of cherry blossoms by booking through a travel agency, but with recent changes, FITs (free independent travelers) can now visit Japan at their leisure.

But Japan only accepts individuals vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Bharat Biotech, or Novavax. 

Now enjoy visiting Japan, once again with its rich and varied history. The stunning, diverse scenery with mountains and breathtaking views, which the Japanese adore, offers a wide range of experiences that draw tourists from all over the world.

2. Hong Kong

Hong Kong officially lifted its hotel quarantine requirements for the first time On 26 September 2022, in nearly two and a half years since the pandemic. Hong Kong’s reopening will allow international arrivals to travel to their preferred destination, but they will still have to self-monitor for three days.

With the new “0+3” eased protocol, travelers will no longer have to present a negative nucleic acid testing report before boarding. They must conduct a self-arranged rapid antigen test within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time and submit their negative results via the Department of Health’s online Health & Quarantine Information Declaration.

Hong Kong is best known as a shopping haven. However, it is much more than just that. Visitors can enjoy high-altitude views of the city, sample local cuisine, celebrate festivals, watch sporting events, and visit movie locations in the city.

3. China

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began in 2020, China has closed its borders to foreign tourists, allowing only certain groups of foreign nationals to enter the country, such as those with valid visas.

On Monday, September 19 2022, the Chinese government issued draft regulations aimed at boosting tourism along its borders and making it easier for some foreigners to enter China; but only with a tour group. The draft policy document did not specify whether visitors would be subjected to China’s quarantine rules, which call for a week-long hotel quarantine followed by three days at home.

From ancient palaces to the Great Wall, city walls, buried armies, canals, pagodas, temples, and giant Buddhas, China’s awesome and monumental ancient treasures dwarf all other countries in size and number. This is one of the main reasons travelers love to explore China throughout the year. 

4. Switzerland

Switzerland is a well-known tourist destination and is also one of the few countries that has fully recovered from the pandemic, with all Covid-19 restrictions lifted. 

The country is now welcoming all travelers from around the world even with no proof of vaccination, recovery or resting required. 

Switzerland has a lot to offer visitors; with beautiful scenic lakes, forests, mountains, and clean air. The tourism industry is a major economic driver in the country. The breathtaking scenery of the incredible mountains, numerous lakes, and charming villages, all add up to its beauty. These landscapes are thought to be what make Switzerland the ideal vacation destination for discovering new cultures, perfect every vacation. 

5. Greece

Greece opened its doors again to all international travelers effective from 1 May 2022. Travelers are no longer required to show a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, regardless of their country of origin.

On-arrival quarantine is not required for all inbound travelers, though masks are required in indoor venues.

A Passenger Locator Form (PLF) is still in effect, which is optional for visitors. This PLF will allow travelers to issue an EU Certificate of a positive or negative test result.

Travelers who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 anytime during their visit may choose to isolate themselves at their booked hotel. 

Greece has long been a popular tourist destination for visitors from all over the world, thanks in part to its ancient cultural history and numerous archaeological sites, such as those in Athens, the capital city.

6. Vietnam

Starting 15 May 2022, all Vietnam destinations are free to visit with no Covid-19 testing requirements and no requirements for quarantine.  

On arrival, travelers must only show proof of Covid-19 treatment travel insurance with a minimum coverage of US$10,000. Within 10 days from the date of entry travelers with symptoms of  SARS-CoV-2 infection are required to self-monitor their health.

Visitors must also download the PC-Covid mobile app, which must be presented in order to enter any establishment in Vietnam.

Most visitors to Vietnam are drawn by the country’s stunning natural beauty, which ranges from the green rice fields of the north to the fascinating bustle of the Mekong Delta in the south. Vietnam is a country with a long history and ancient traditions, and many tourists visit the place for this very reason.

7. Austria

As of 16th of May 2022, pre-travel clearance has been lifted, and the so-called “3-G” rule (vaccinated/recovered or tested) is no longer required to be submitted. 

Masks are optional in all indoor spaces in all provinces except Vienna. Masks are still required in pharmacies and on public transportation in the capital.

Whatever the season, Austria has something to offer its visitors. Austria is an ideal destination all year round, from exciting ski trips and stunning Christmas markets in winter to relaxing summer strolls along the dreamy shores of lakes in summer.

8. Israel

The Israeli Ministry of Health has eliminated the need for Covid-19 tests requirements of recovery, vaccination certificate or quarantine upon arrival from May 21 2022 for all travelers inbound. Masks on international flights are contingent on each airline’s safety protocols and whether the airline requires passengers to wear masks or not. 

Currently, there are no requirements of presenting a recovery or vaccination

Those who have been diagnosed with Covid in the country from which the flight to Israel departs and have not yet recovered will be denied entry.

9. Indonesia

With effect from 18 May 2022, International visitors must download the PeduliLindungi mobile app and complete their user profile and entry application before entering Indonesia. 

There is no need to present a Negative proof of RT-PCR test or present proof of health insurance. 

Inbound visitors to Indonesia will not be required to take any Covid-19 tests, but they must be vaccinated with at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. 

Indonesia has a wide range of beautiful islands and beaches, as well as a rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, and is one of the world’s most popular destinations for surfing and yoga retreats. With so many flights to Indonesia from almost anywhere on the planet, it’s an easy destination for any traveler.

10. Malaysia

From 1 August, Malaysia has reopened to international tourism with new entry requirements in place. All travelers, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, are permitted to enter Malaysia and do not require a pre-departure or on-arrival COVID-19 test.

Before or after arriving in Malaysia, travelers can download and activate the MySejahtera application to indicate their COVID-19 risk status.

Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 must be isolated for seven (7) days under a Home Surveillance Order (HSO). Malaysia lifted the last of its significant Covid restrictions in early September, making masks optional in indoor settings. Wearing masks is still required for those who have tested positive, as well as in healthcare facilities and on public transportation.

11. Thailand

From 30 September Thailand has been preparing for a return to normalcy after months of strict travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic by relaxing some travel restrictions and quarantine requirements to allow tourists to enter the country.

Thailand has changed Covid-19’s classification from “a dangerous communicable disease” to “a communicable disease under surveillance” as of October 1, 2022.

International visitors will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or antigen test results, and infected individuals with mild or no symptoms will not be required to enter isolation.

12. Singapore

At the end of August, Singapore further relaxed its travel requirements and opened its doors once again to travelers, even without Covid-19 vaccination status. 

Those who have not received the vaccine must show proof of Covid-19 travel insurance with at least $30,000 in medical expenses, as well as take a PCR or professionally administered rapid antigen test two days before departure.

Singapore’s varied charms are bound to enchant visitors to the island, with its century-old temples, bustling hawker centers, and lush green spaces. The city’s calendar of events is equally diverse, providing visitors with numerous opportunities to explore, indulge, and express their interests.

13. Australia

The land down under has also reopened its doors again for international travelers and allowed domestic travels as well. No proof of a negative COVID -19 test is required, although some countries, airlines, and vessel operators may require a pre-departure test result at check-in. 

Masks are no longer required on international flights to Australia as of September 9, 2022. Travelers are still encouraged to wear masks to reduce their personal risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19. Travelers no longer need to complete the Digital Passenger Declaration or Maritime Travel Declaration.

14. Czech Republic

On 9 April 2022, the entry ban for foreigners into the Czech Republic from third countries was lifted, along with the requirement to prove infection-free status and vaccination certificate.

Entry into the Czech Republic is no longer subject to any special epidemiological conditions designed to prevent disease spread.

Despite this, most transportation providers operating to, from, and within the country may have their own set of safety protocols.

15. South Africa

On March 22, 2022, the President of South Africa announced that fully vaccinated travelers entering the country would no longer be required to produce a negative Covid-19 test with immediate effect.

Other Covid-19 restrictions have also been removed; including, no mast mandates in public outdoor spaces, and event venues will be allowed to hold 50% of people who have been vaccinated and tested negative on a PCR test.

16. Cambodia

When Cambodia removed testing and quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated travelers in March, it was widely acknowledged as “ASEAN’s most open destination” by industry members.

Unvaccinated arrivals to Cambodia may be required to quarantine, but this can be avoided by presenting a negative covide test result. Travelers are also required to present medical insurance coverage of at least $50,000. 

In the event of a positive test result, travelers with mild symptoms may isolate at a Ministry of Health-approved facility, while those with more severe symptoms must isolate at a state-designated Covid-19 treatment center.

17. Maldives

On March 4 2022, Maldives has abolished all travel requirements; which means that international visitors that are fully vaccinated don’t have to present a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country. 

Furthermore, the Maldives has also lifted the mask requirement, allowing visitors to travel freely at any place. 

Apart from its many enchanting landmarks, the Maldives is also well-known for its water sports and other adventure activities, and it is ranked as one of the best recreational diving destinations in the world, with over 60 local dive sites spread across the islands. It was also observed to be the most desired honeymoon destination in the world.

18. UAE

As of 26 February, the UAE opened its doors to travelers again; lifting many of the  COVID-19 restrictions as well. Those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 must present a vaccination certificate with a QR code. They are not required to show a negative RT-PCR test result for COVID-19 at the airport of departure.

Those who are unvaccinated must either present a valid, negative result of an RT-PCR test performed within 48 hours of arrival, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate (containing a QR code) issued within 30 days of departure, if they have previously been infected with the virus.

The UAE has also abandoned the requirement for physical distance in public places. Masks are still required in public indoor spaces but are optional outside.

The UAE is an ideal tourist destination due to its economic and political stability, religious and cultural tolerance, and a variety of events and activities. 19. England

Earlier in England, the Covid rest and quarantine exemption only applied to fully vaccinated travelers, but since 18 March 2022, all travelers (vaccinated and unvaccinated) are free to enter the country. 

Further restrictions including, completing a UK passenger locator form, Covid-19 tests before traveling, and quarantine on arrival have all been lifted.

20. Ireland

Individuals who exhibit symptoms at any point during their stay must also submit to self-pay testing. Travelers who test positive must isolate for five days at their lodging; repeat testing is not required to exit isolation.

Quarantine is not required for fully vaccinated international entrants and passengers who have recovered from COVID-19 within the last six months; booster shots are not required to be considered fully vaccinated.
